Apparently i’ve had BV on and off for the past few months. The last time i took flagyl it barely helped at all. Now i’m going on the Ceocin cream. I had an odor at first, but it went away with the antibiotic. The symptoms that won’t go away are pain during intercourse (the skin inside the vagina about 1 inch in hurts terribly almost every time) and sometimes burning during urination and some thick white discharge. Are other peoples symptoms like this? I feel like I’m learning more from the internet than the Dr. himself =[

I never had female problems such as bv until after my first pregnancy 4 years ago. Then everthing went downhill. The medication works for a little while and then the odor comes back. The itching is terrible. I shower 3 or 4 times a day and still not fresh. My husband claims he doesn’t smell anything but its just so embarrasing. It could be diet related, I’m considering not eating sugary foods and washing the under garments in like mild detergent. I dont have insurance either.

i was diagnosed with bv, after taking the oral antibiotic the odor and dishcharge went away imediatley, but i still was getting irritation on the inside and outside, jus little pains, so hard to explain like gettin shot with a tiny rubberband?..so the doctor gave me the gel..witch was 80$ and after using it for a week i felt good for a few days now the irritations back i dont have insurance and cant afford to keep going back to the doctors but i dont know what to do i just wanna be normal again

I was diagnosed with BV and it is the worst thing I have ever experienced. I have vaginal itching, burning, and redness. Will this ever go away and has anyone else had these symptoms associated with it? Should I be worried that maybe something else could be going on?

It is not technically considered an STD because many women can get this without ever having intercourse. However, it can and usually does flare up in women after sexual activity. As far as it being transferred to other woman is still up in the air. Some say germs of BV have been found to cause “Balanitis” which is just a general term that is the inflammation of the tip of the penis. Many doctors would say this is untrue. Sorry about not giving a direct answer yes or no but there doesn’t appear to be one as of yet.

I was diagnose with BV maybe 2-3 years ago. My doctor gave me antibiotics and symptoms subsided also but never went away. I also had that same problem when I was pregnant and it was not pleasant. I am so self-conscious when I am around faniliy and friends. I take showers everyday and several wash ups in between the day. BV is a very serious infection and it could make you very depress. I always ask myself, why does this have to happen to me all the time and will it end?

I was just diagnosis with BV a few months ago. I took oral antibiotics and antibiotics creams. The symptoms subside, but never go away. I am so miserable every day. To top it all off I am 7 weeks pregnant and have discontinued the use of antibiotics as it is my first trimester. I am trying the home remedies now. So you can imagine been pregnant and going through BV. When does it end and will it end? No one can give me an answer!
